Singapore Garden Festival – 2026 Gold and Silver Winner – Vincent Chia & Zenjiro Hashimoto

What an incredible achievement by Vincent Chia and the Tropic Landscape & Planners team, as well as Zenjiro Hashimoto and the Suquru Inc Pte. Ltd. team, for winning Gold and Silver in the ‘My Living Space’ competition at the Singapore Garden Festival 2026. Designers were challenged to creatively rethink how plants can be integrated into everyday living spaces from balconies to living rooms redefining the term “urban living”.

Showcase M01: THE QUIET SPACE BETWEEN
by Zenjiro Hashimoto [Silver Winner] concept:

” Between light and shadow, inside and outside, presence and absence, a quiet interval emerges. Rather than adding more nature, this display creates a space where nature can be felt. Soft light filters through, casting shifting shadows that reveal the passage of time, while moments of stillness invite reflection. The boundary between architecture and garden dissolves, forming a continuous field for living. Defined not by objects but by the space in between, it offers a restrained yet sensory environment, where a quieter, more intimate way of living with nature is rediscovered. ”

Showcase M03: PEACE
by Vincent Chia [Gold Winner] concept:

” An inner self within the home. Natural materials, filtered light, and breathable spatial flow create a restorative environment that nurtures both mind and body. At its heart lies “a garden within” – an intimate, immersive refuge seamlessly integrated into daily life. An active and creative mind finds beauty and freedom with the ease of care, while the space evolves with its inhabitants, offering a living. breathing expression of urban wellbeing. ”
