Capella at Galaxy Macau exemplifies a new benchmark of refined luxury. Designed to create meaningful and immersive guest experiences. Situated within the award-winning Galaxy Macau integrated resort, the development is among the world’s most highly acclaimed hospitality destination, holding the record for the most Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotels under one roof. Through close collaboration with Luxlight Macau, we supported the talented Galaxy Team by delivering our robust, submersible Contour Light system for Capella’s pond feature. The overall lighting and execution have significantly enhanced the visual experience at the entrance and throughout the lobby, creating a cohesive and immersive arrival journey.

As visitors arrive at Capella, before entering the residential ground lobby, they are greeted by an immersive architectural feature that acts as a visual and spatial centerpiece. It functions as a serene ceremonial pavilion, a transition space between pick-up and drop-off (PUDO) point and the interior lobby. At its core is a gold funnel-shaped structural element, symbolizing a ‘tree’ expanding upward into a sweeping canopy. The base consists of a shallow circular reflecting pool with beautiful crane sculptures that anchors the composition, subtly illuminated by a blue glow along its perimeter — this effect is achieved using our SR® Contour Light SLM20, engineered for submersible use at depths of up to 1.5m, making it ideal for such applications. The blue hue visually deepens the pool and creates a mood and experience that feels bright yet calm and refreshing. Even with a glass enclosure between the spaces, the lighting maintains a seamless visual connection between the PUDO and the interior lobby.

The entrance of Capella radiates beautifully from afar, defined by a distinctive lighting scheme brought to life through the vision of Galaxy Team. As with many new developments around the world looking to create stunning luxury residential architecture, this project serves as a reminder that connection with the design and its ability to convey a story is what makes a truly remarkable experiences—one to be felt, remembered, and illuminated.
