Nestled in the heart of Singapore, Swissôtel The Stamford is just steps away from Marina Bay and the Civic District. The hotel offers vibrant Swiss hospitality and showcases the elegance of their contemporary rooms. Recently, the corridors and lavatories underwent a much-needed refurbishment and relighting, led by the remarkable interior designers from Parks-Partners and the brilliant lighting consultant ALPs. The transformation focuses on refreshing the space to make it more lively and luxurious. Clear, elegant illumination is essential to enhance visibility in the corridors while highlighting the hotel’s magnificent interiors and décor. Our SR® luminaires have always been sought after for hospitality projects, valued for their efficiency, reliability, and versatility — offering solutions for general lighting, shelf illumination, adjustable focused lighting, and much more.

According to ALPs, the theme for this lighting design is “clean aesthetic”, with an emphasis on circular layouts to enhance the sense of spaciousness. With our SR® luminaires illuminating the area creates a visually wider, more open feel, while their high CRI and optimized CCT brighten the spaces like never before. As you walk through the corridor, the difference is immediately visible — the refined design of the interiors and décor comes to life. The corridor is softly illuminated by the ambient light from our nearby SR® Ryko M downlight, currently highlighting the elegant vase décor – It is a simple yet elegant recessed downlight design, which also helps the lighting consultant achieve her vision for a clean, minimalist theme. Further along, an elegant wine glass cabinet is enhanced by our SR® Contour Slim installed inside, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that showcases the bottles without harsh glare. With an excellent heat tolerance, the SR® Contour Slim safeguards both the lighting and the wine from excessive heat.

Upon entering the vanity lobby, guests are greeted by a brightly lit, spacious area. Encircling the ceiling, our SR® Contour H AURAS luminaires highlight the space below and accentuate the elegant floral vases. The circular placement of the contour light breaks away from the conventional straight-line or rectangular ceiling layouts. It adds fluidity, infinity, and visual harmony, subconsciously making the space feel complete and continuous. From a technical perspective, this design presents a positive challenge for the lighting consultant: Maintaining uniform brightness and curvature throughout the circle requires precision installation and high-quality flexible LEDs. Achieving a smooth, dot-free, and consistent light ring—especially in large diameters—demands exceptional engineering. Our high-performance SR® Contour H AURAS luminaires are designed to meet these challenges with great reliability.

Each vanity mirror is illuminated by a focused SR® Ryko downlight. Another unique feature to take note of is that the Ryko’s base is easily removable, allowing for simpler installation and maintenance. Our SR® Contour V Slim provides subtle ambient illumination, creating a soft, indirect glow that enhances both mood and floor visibility. This carefully designed lighting ensures the vanity area is optimally bright, functional, and comfortable for every guest.

Moving further into the lavatory, guests are welcomed by a warm and inviting ambiance—Our SR® EFlex lighting, installed in the ceiling cove, delivers a soft glow, providing seamless illumination without harsh glare. Designed for convenience, the EFlex can be easily cut on-site without soldering, thanks to its latest plug-and-play accessories, making installation simple and efficient. Behind the mirrors, our SR® Contour Slim has been chosen once again to create a soft, cool backlight that highlights their elegant shape. With a unique small bend radius of just 8 cm, the Contour Slim meets various design requirements, showcasing the product’s versatility when it comes to style and functionality. The basin area is well lit by a combination of decorative lighting and our SR® Ryko downlights, ensuring optimal visibility and comfort for guests.

Creating memorable spaces in established hotels relies on a well-planned layout, premium materials that match the overall style, and thoughtful lighting to highlight details and finishes.
