Nestled within a valley, the five-star Gaia Hotel Bandung is perfectly situated to create a captivating nighttime lighting experience that illuminates the surrounding darkness, making the hotel a shining beacon in the night. The hotel has 280 accommodation rooms and 4 F&B outlets alongside 26 event venues of various interior designs and sizes for meetings, weddings, and conferences.

The hotel also features a spa, fitness centre, and outdoor pool for guests to enjoy while taking in the surrounding natural beauty. In collaboration with Socialight’s lead designer, Rohan Abdullah, a new lighting concept is poised to transform the architectural landscape of a prominent wellness and rejuvenation resort. This design balances modernity with cultural heritage, drawing inspiration from the hotel’s focus on Indonesian architecture.

Rohan explains, “The resort is envisioned as a modern wellness destination, where facade lighting plays a key role in creating a sense of natural rhythm and intrigue. The illuminated squares, flowing in subtle motion, capture this concept, while other lighting elements accentuate the architecture and enhance the building’s volume.”

At the heart of this design is the precise selection and placement of our custom lighting fittings, balancing aesthetics and functionality. To achieve the natural rhythm and motion of the illuminated squares a specially designed lighting fixture with our lighting strips curled in a circular form is carefully positioned within a hollow square, a marble sheet is then placed at the center, creating a radiant glow that elegantly produces a striking, illuminated effect that enhances the facades of the hotel.

The fittings and marble sheets also underscore the architectural narrative, ensuring that local materials remain central to the design. This not only elevates the resort’s visual identity but also strengthens the connection between the building and its surroundings. Combining innovation, craftsmanship, and local authenticity, these lighting fixtures mark a major step in realizing the resort’s architectural vision, offering guests an experience that seamlessly blends modern design with tradition.
