Cornerstone Community Church (CSCC) is a prominent church in Singapore known for its dynamic worship environment and strong emphasis on community, discipleship, and global outreach, has expanded its footprint into the heart of Orchard Road in early 2025. Situated within Orchard Towers, the 19,000 sq ft space serves as a central city hub for worship services and community outreach, with the vision of transforming an area once known for its nightlife into a place of worship and community.

In collaboration with renowned architectural and interior designer EHKA Studio and lighting consultant ALPs, an atmospheric narrative was created—enhancing visual clarity, highlighting architectural features, and elevating the emotional essence of worship across every sacred space. We are proud that our SR® products have been selected to illuminate areas ranging from the entrance, lobby, lounge, and activity rooms, all the way to the main auditorium hall—the central hub for the church’s activities and functions. This project provided an opportunity to showcase our diverse range of specialized lighting products, meeting the varied requirements set by the lighting consultant.

EHKA Studio have thoughtfully designed the front façade to create a warm and inviting arrival experience, featuring a gently curved travertine wall that guides visitors seamlessly into the foyer. Within this space, a striking curved LED display serves as a dynamic focal point, showcasing content related to church activities and programs. Above the reception area, our SR® Contour Light Fino is used as a circular cove lighting, forming a ring in the ceiling to provide a sleek, indirect ambient illumination that casts a soft, elegant glow. In a similar spirit, the ‘Next Steps’ Lounge is designed with comfort in mind, offering a cosy and welcoming environment that encourages connection and social interaction.

Our SR® Ryko D was used throughout the church, offering a simple yet elegant recessed downlight solution. Available in both fixed and adjustable configurations, it provides flexibility for various lighting requirements. A notable advantage is its multi-size range, enabling designers to maintain a cohesive look across different spaces.

Another key area of the church is the ‘Overflow space’. Above the ceiling, ALPs have utilized our robust SR® Contour Light Trelati which features a tri-directional illumination which distributes light evenly in multiple directions, ensuring consistent bright illumination across the room.

The main hall is an architectural marvel, envisioned by EKHA Studio as a harmonious environment where symmetry and structure evoke a calm equilibrium, anchored by a clear central focal point. The beautiful rippling on the ceiling and along select sections of the curved surfaces has been strategically integrated with our signature high-performance SR® Contour Light Auras, where lighting appears as a single, fluid stroke rather than a series of broken lines, enhancing both depth and dynamism. Three modular elements—lighting, air circulation, and acoustic functions—are carefully merged into one cohesive surface, with technical components subtly embedded within the architecture to maintain a unified design. The design takes inspiration from traditional church vaults and aims to symbolize a sacred space where heaven and earth meet. Altogether, the space achieves a dynamic and immersive atmosphere, giving the impression of gentle movement within a carefully composed setting.

We are deeply humbled to have contributed to Cornerstone Community Church, helping to light a new place that nurtures faith, community, and reflection. From the rooms to the main auditorium has been carefully considered by the talented EHKA Studio. Complementing this, the lighting design by ALPs enhances architectural features, improves visual clarity, and creates an environment that uplifts and inspires. This project has allowed us to support the church’s mission of bringing people together in worship, learning, and fellowship—illuminating not just the space, but the hearts and minds of the community.
